The Pender Harbour & Egmont area is host to a huge variety of festivals and events throughout the year, from blues to classical music festivals, to car and motorcycle shows, to art gallery crawls, community parades, mushroom festivals and so much more. April Tools Wooden Boat Challenge: This is a fun family event where boat-building teams have one hour to plan how they'll build their boat with the crazy materials they get and with hand tools only! And then there's the races where the main ingredient is fun. Lots of activities for the little kids, including free mini-boatbuilding! Pender Harbour May Day: The Annual Pender Harbour May Day has been held in Madeira Park foor 75 years and it includes a popular parade, vendors, live music and activities on the Madeira Park Elementary School field all day long. Lots of great family fun! Attack of Danger Bay: In May, Coast Longboarders welcome the best downhill racers in the world for 5 days of racing on Francis Peninsula. Only 5 minutes away, the buses leave from Madeira Park in Pender Harbour to where the races are held. Madeira Park has plenty of free parking.
Egmont Day: A family event in June that kicks off with a kids' fishing derby, followed by a popular parade, barbecue, games, vendors and live music in the park and the pub. Check the events calendar for the Salmon Barbecues, movie nights, dances and Christmas dinners. Pender Harbour Days: Another fun filled July weekend of a celebration of our heritage featuring historical boats, land-based heritage displays, a boat parade, sailing competitions, and more combined with arts, music, kids activities, and entertainment.

Garden Bay Sailing Club: Holds sailboat races throughout the year but the Malaspina Regatta is in July. Check out their Calendar of Events for details.
Pender Harbour Chamber of Music: Classical music at its best, don't miss the Chamber Music Festival and the concert series in August. The monthly Coffee House at the School of Music showcases local performing artists, complete with stage, lights and sound. The proceeds, after expenses, is split among the performers. Coffee and sweets are sold. Check out the Pipe Band and the Choir! Pender Harbour Rod Run and Show n' Shine: Presented by the Rotary Club of Pender Harbour in August, the Rod Run starts at Highway 101 (by Rona) and goes down Francis Peninsula Road to Lagoon Road to Madeira Park Road and into the Pender Harbour Legion, where you will find vendors, food, and a 50/50 raffle draw. Pender Harbour Mushroom & Seaweed Festival: A 3 day event n November that starts with a mini symposium on mushroom cultivation on Friday at the Madeira Park School of Music, followed on Saturday and Sunday with displays, cooking demos, lunch platters and more inside the Community Hall. Local restaurants like the Painted Boat and the Ruby Lake Resort offer special mushroom menus and events during the festival. Pender Harbour Christmas Boat Parade:
Boat decorated in Christmas lights show off in a wonderful night-time parade, which begins at the Madeira Park Government Dock and cruises through Garden Bay, Hospital bay, Irvine's landing, Lee Bay (weather permitting), Whiskey Slough and back to Madeira Park. Find a good vantage point on shore, bring your camera, and dress warmly! |
