Things to Do in Pender Harbour & Egmont Areas

Scuba Diving

A popular ocean dive spot, the waters off Pender Harbour and Egmont offer spectacular visibility year round, plus interesting and abundant marine life. Go face-to-face with a Giant Pacific Octopus or a Morrey Eel!

Pender Harbour
The Agamemnon Channel area (between Nelson Island and Pender Harbour) is also a popular spot to see glass sponge reefs and other amazing ecosystems. Dive down to 150 feet (45 meters) to check out BC's rare Gorgonian Sea Fans.

Gulf Rascal  and  OTB Charters

Underwater Council of British Columbia is a non-profit society dedicated to promoting safe recreational SCUBA diving, environmental protection and acting as the unified voice of British Columbia recreational divers since 1991.
Off Egmont
One of the more popular dive spots is at the Skookumchuck Rapids, but due to the dangerous nature of the tides, it's recommended for experienced divers only.

The wreck of the HMCS Chaudiere is located just beyond the Skookumchuck Rapids in Sechelt Inlet, is one of the must-dive spots on the Sunshine Coast.

- The Backeddy Resort & Marina has a scuba tank filling station and a great pub!
- Contact West Coast Wilderness Lodge for help setting up your diving adventure.
