Located in the heart of Madeira Park, our Visitor Info Booth provides access to public washrooms, free WIFI, and lots of free parking so you can walk around the village, go grab something to eat, do a little shopping, or spend the day on the water! Hours: 9:00am to 4:00pm OPEN: Every weekend in June and daily in July and August until the end of the September long weekend. Let us help you find accommodations, restaurants, boat tours, as well as provide you with maps and info on the many recreational activities available in the Pender Harbour and Egmont area. We also mail info packages. PENDER HARBOUR OVERVIEW The Sunshine Coast is a boater’s paradise and Pender Harbour is the center of it all! The villages surrounding this protected harbour provide all the services boaters need. Oceanfront restaurants and resorts with marinas close to awesome hiking trails and swimming lakes makes Pender Harbour a perfect destination not just for boaters, but landlubbers as well! Rent a kayak, take a boat cruise or hike up Pender Hill and Mount Daniel to enjoy spectacular views. |

VISITOR INFORMATION CENTER Located at the entrance to Egmont and across the road from the Skookumchuck Narrows Provincial Park trailhead to the Skookumchuck rapids and whirlpools, the Egmont Heritage Center provides tourist information, a great gift shop, access to public washrooms, free WIFI, picnic areas and lots of free parking so you can hike to the rapids or just stroll down to this tiny and very picturesque fishing village. HOURS: Spring Thursday - Monday 10am - 5pm. (starting Easter weekend) Summer/Fall Daily 10am - 5pm. (starting Victoria Day and ending Thanksgiving) Fall/Winter Thursday - Monday 10am - 5pm. (starting Thanksgiving and ending December 24th) Winter Open by request - call 604.883.9994 or email us at EgmontHeritage@outlook.com EGMONT AREA OVERVIEW About 20 minutes north of Madeira Park, is the Iris Griffiths Nature Center and the start of the Egmont area. Just north of that is beautiful Ruby Lake and lagoon, where you can rent a kayak or visit the resort and Italian restaurant. Next you find Dan Bosch Park with its sandy beach on Ruby Lake. 15 minutes north is the end of the Sunshine Coast Highway, the Earls Cove BC Ferries Terminal and a small bistro. The road to the Village of Egmont, the home of the Skookumchuck Rapids starts a mile before the ferry terminal.. At the entrance to Egmont find the Egmont Heritage Centre and a campground with cabins. For more accomodations, visit Egmont's three waterfront resorts and marinas: Bathgate Resort & Marina, the West Coast Wilderness Lodge & Inlets Restaurant, and the Backeddy Resort & Marina and Pub. Drive north for an hour on a scenic coastal highway to Pender Harbour. Drive only another half hour to reach the end of the road in the Village of Egmont, home of the Skookumchuck Rapids and Whirlpools. If coming from Powell River, take the Saltery Bay ferry boat to Earl’s Cove. Only a kilometer from the Earls Cove BC Ferry Terminal is the 6Km road to the Village of Egmont. To reach Pender Harbour, don't turn into Egmont Road and keep driving south on the Sunshine Coast Highway for half hour to Pender Harbour. We have floor decals to make sure visitors know where to stand safely away from others. We have signs posted in the public washrooms asking they wash their hands and wear a mask. Our staff provides info to visitors through a sneezeguard and are only allowed one at a time inside the info booth. PLEASE STAY SAFE!
